Battle of the Bands 2026

Xavier Academy hosted an incredible battle of bands program bringing together students for live show. The event provided a grooming platform for aspiring musicians, singers, and performers to showcase their raw talent in accosting ambience. Aghor Band emerged as the winner, impressing judges and audiences with their outstanding musical performance. The event was organized by Xavier Academy and its Student Council at the Lazimpat college premises in Kathmandu on Thursday, providing a vibrant platform for students to showcase their musical talents.


The winner Aghor Band , received a cash prize of NPR 15,000. In the same competition, Naulo band secured the first runner-up position, while Fluviono emerged as the second runner-up. Both teams received cash prizes in recognition of their performances. The first runner-up received NPR 10,000, while the second runner-up received NPRS 5,000.


Aghor Band captivated the audience with performances of popular Nepali songs including “Aakashaimaa Chila Udyo Fanana,” “Farki Farki Nahera,” and “Maya Timile Kahile.” Their strong musical coordination and stage presence distinguished them from the other competing bands. In the competition, six bands Aghor, Naulo, Fluviono, Riot Brigade, Retro Rampers, and Midnight Echo Our students from Grade XI and XII participated in the Robotics competition organised by Trinity International College. Xavier Academy's Robotics Team XAR had a highly successful month February 2026, achieving notable results across multiple competitions. Anuj Chaudhary received the Best Pilot Award at Celesta IIT Patna 2026 under Xavier's PG Team. The team also participated in the Virinchi – ICT Mela UI/UX Design Competition. At the SciTech Exhibition-cum-Competition 2026 organized by Trinity International College, students showcased a Vehicle Accident Detection and Alert System. Further achievements include 2nd Runnerup in Robowar (15 lbs) at Yathartha (IOE Thapathali Campus) and Second Place in Robosoccer at Matrix (IOE Pulchowk Campus). participated, each delivering energetic performances that turned the college premises into a lively celebration of youth, rhythm, and creativity. The judging panel comprised Xavier Academy alumnus Mrinal Manandhar, along with Kunal Singh and Umesh Dangol.


In addition to winning the main title, Aghor Band was also honored by We Will Rise Foundation (WWRF), Kathmandu. At a program organized on Saturday at the foundation’s office in Gongabu, each band member was awarded a cash prize of NPR 5,000 along with trophies, recognizing their exceptional performance and encouraging continued dedication to music. We Will Rise Foundation (WWRF) was established after the devastating earthquake of 2015 with the aim of rebuilding hope and strengthening communities. Since then, the foundation has actively worked to promote and motivate youth, encouraging them to channel their talents into positive and creative pursuits. WWRF continues its mission of empowering young people and nurturing future leaders through art and culture.


The Battle of the Bands is an annual event organized by Xavier Academy to identify, nurture, and promote hidden musical talents among students, offering a meaningful platform for creative expression and confidence-building. BATTLE OF BANDS 29 Jan 2026


The program was attended by Xavier Academy’s Vice Principal and Chief Administrative Officer Prakash Shrestha; record-holding mountaineer Phurba Tenzing Sherpa, who has summited Mount Everest 17 times; and representatives of the We Will Rise Foundation, including Director Nirmal Shrestha, Khadga Pariyar and Ashok Gurung, among others.
