Class XI
Students having finished their SLC, have two basic subjects to choose from, Commerce and Science. From these fundamentals, once when they pass out they have the opportunity to enter any field in the career prospective.
During the months of May-June, we distribute application forms, which are filled, submitted with copies of their transcripts and passport photographs. An entrance exam is held in the college grounds. The highest scorers are then called in for interviews. Our overall admissions are based on their SLC results, entrance exam and interviews.

BBS
Between the months of July-August, admission forms are given out to students who passed out from the higher secondary level, specifically in commerce. Along with their intermediate results, copies of transcripts and on the basis of their entrance exam, students are called in for an interview and admitted into the Bachelor of Business Studies course.


Admission Procedure
Applicants need to complete the application form and submit it along with copies of latest marksheets, transcripts, marksheets and their most recent photographs. Eligible students will need to sit for an Entrance Examination. Admission to Class XI will be based on the aggregate SLC and Entrance Examination score and performance during the entrance interview of shortlisted candidates. Similar procedure will apply for other courses.


Admission Eligibility
To be eligible for admission in the 10+2 program in Science, the candidate should have passed the SLC (latest) or an equivalent examination under a recognised Board in First Division with a minimum of 70% and a combined score of 210 in Science, Compulsory Mathematics and English. Optional Maths is mandatory for all candidates, wishing to study Science.

To be eligible for admission in the 10+2 program in Commerce, the candidate should have passed the SLC (latest) or an equivalent examination under a recognised Board in First Division with a minimum of 65% and a combined score of 130 in Compulsory Mathematics and English.

Only the latest SLC or equivalent results will be considered for admission in Class XI. Similarly, for other courses offered by Xavier Academy, candidates must comply with the given eligibility criteria, which will be published before the start-up of the admission procedure.


Scholarships & Awards
Xavier Academy has various ongoing and additional scholarships for the meritorious students as well as financial aid programs to the deserving and needy students. Awards are also presented to students excelling in different spheres. The scholarships and awards provided are as follows :

Scholarships
HSEB Scholarships:
100% tuition waiver for upto 3 % of total Class XI enrollment at the time of Class XI admission (as recommended in writing by HSEB), which will be continued as long as students maintain grades of above 60%.

Entrance Exam Merit Scholarships:
100% tuition waiver to the top 3 students in Science and 2 students in Commerce in entrance examination for the whole year, provided the students have attained 75% or more in SLC examination and maintain grades above 70% in all term examinations.
75% tuition waiver to the next 3 students in Science and 2 students in Commerce in entrance examination for the whole year, provided the students have attained 75% or more in SLC examination and maintain grades above 70% in all term examinations.
50% tuition waiver to the next 3 students in Science and 2 students in Commerce in entrance examination for the whole year, provided the students have attained 75% or more in SLC examination and maintain grades above 70% in all term examinations.
25% tuition waiver to the next 3 students in Science and 2 students in Commerce in entrance examination for the whole year, provided the students have attained 75% or more in SLC examination and maintain grades above 70% in all term examinations

District Topper Merit Scholarship:
100% tuition waiver to the district toppers from public schools in SLC examinations for two years, provided the students attain at least 60% in the entrance examination and maintain grades above 60% in all term examinations in Class XI and Class XII as well as in Class XI Board Examination.

Class XI Board Exam Merit Scholarships:
100% tuition waiver to the top 2 students in Science and Commerce, based on Class XI Board examination, for the whole of Class XII, provided the students maintain grades above 70% in all term examinations.
75% tuition waiver to the 3rd and 4th placed students in Science and Commerce,based on Class XI Board examination, for the whole of Class XII, provided the students maintain grades above 70% in all term examinations..
50% tuition waiver to the 5th and 6th placed students in Science and Commerce, based on Class XI Board examination, for the whole of Class XII, provided the students maintain grades above 70% in all term examinations.
25% tuition waiver to the 7th and 8th placed students in Science and Commerce, based on Class XI Board examination, for the whole of Class XII, provided the students maintain grades above 70% in all term examinations.

Term Exam Merit Scholarships:
100% tuition waiver to the top two students in Science and Commerce, with at least 1 girl student in each stream, for subsequent term of 4 months.

Distinction Merit Scholarship:
25% tuition waiver to all students, who have scored more than 80% and less than 85% in entrance examination, SLC, sent-up and Class VIII and IX examinations, at the time of admission, as well as those who have scored more than 80% in the Class XI examination.

Super Distinction Merit Scholarships:
50% tuition waiver to all students, who have scored more than 85% in entrance examination, SLC, sent-up and Class VIII and IX examinations, at the time of admission, as well as those who have scored more than 85% in the Class XI examination.

Gender Based Merit Scholarships:
100% tuition waiver to girl students 2 in science and 1 in commerce - who have attained more than 50% in the entrance examination, first division in SLC and have studied the last 3 years of their schooling in public schools outside of Kathmandu Valley and are able to maintain at least 60% in all the term examinations.

Staff Ward Scholarships:
100% tuition waiver and 50% discount in admission and annual fees to the sons/daughters of full-time staff members of Xavier Academy, who have fulfilled the admission criteria

Financial Aid
25% to 50% financial aid to the deserving and needy students, who come from financially weak families and who are in dire need of financial aid. Those applying for financial aid must submit all necessary documents.


Awards
Chandra Bhuwaneswari- Parshuram Mathema Award:
Gold Medal, Certificate and Rs 5,000 cash prize to the topper in the Class XII Science Board Examination

Krishna Kumari-Juddha Bahadur Shrestha Award:
Gold Medal, Certificate and Rs 5,000 cash prize to the topper in the Class XII Commerce Board Examination

NEF Chairman's Award:
Certificate and Rs 5,000 cash prize to the topper in the Class XI Science Board Examination

Umesh Shrestha Award:
Certificate and Rs 5,000 cash prize to the topper in the Class XI Commerce Board Examination

Mohan Bir Singh Award:
Certificate and Cash Prize of Rs. 5,000 to the overall best student in Class XI and Class XII


Fees
Xavier Academy has a very competitive fee structure, fully justified by the service it provides. The fees were kept constant for 10 years, after which the fees have been increased nominally during the last three years. The fees will be regularly revised based on salary increases and annual inflationary trends. A system for discounts for bulk payment and fines for late and non-payment is applicable.


Miscellaneous Information
Academic Calendar
Xavier Academy and the other 2 NEF colleges operate as per the published academic calendar, incorporating the class days, term assessments and examinations, report distribution, NEF events, vacations and public holidays.

Uniform & Dress
Students must comply with the specified uniform and the rules and regulations governing both uniform and general deportment, including permissible accessories. After 12 years of operations, the college had a new set of uniform for summer and winter to reflect the new direction that the college has embarked upon starting from last academic year.
